The Terrestrial can be found anywhere. The Terrestrial refers to what is actually here, amongst us, beyond us but also within our bodies. On the search for the Terrestrial, we de-localized ourselves to the campus of the Indian Institute Of Science. A place where renowned scientists explore terrestrial phenomena with artificial objects, methods and measurements situated in a small rain forest within the megacity of Bangalore. Observing them observing, we entangled in the process with our own instruments, camera and microphone in order to question our perspective on what we call Earth.
Director Biography - Adrian Schwartz
Adrian Schwartz is a filmmaker with all of his heart. Since he was only 12 Adrian was amazed by editing moving pictures, telling stories and bringing his ideas to life. Early on he learned to identify with his stories and realized that he would find the best ones right where he didn’t have to look for them. Adrians biggest inspiration however has always been the fact that if worst comes to worst, the only thing needed to make a movie is a good idea and a camera.
Director Biography - Ephraim Wegner
Since his diploma (KHM 2013), he has also been imparting his technical & aesthetic knowledge in an academic environment. Currently together with Prof. Daniel Fetzner in the Laboratory for Media Ecology/Hochschule Offenburg, in the context of his professorship for Audiovisual Computer Science & Game Design/Hochschule Macromedia Campus Freiburg as well as through teaching positions/Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg & Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
He has worked with the Institute for New Music /MHS FR, the Institute for Early Music /HFK Bremen & the Cochlear Implant Centrum FR. Works have been performed at SWR2, BBC, Acht Brücken in Cologne & the Donaueschinger Musiktage.
Together with my partner in crime, Ephraim, I wanted to have a closer look on the terrestrial term. This is our first attempt.
